“When so much care has been taken in planning the Wedding Reception, it is wise to engage a Toastmaster to ensure that it proceeds as planned”

  • The Toastmaster would expect to undertake at least the following duties:
    Arrive at the reception venue at the time the Bridal Party enter the church/Town Hall. To liase with the Wedding Co-ordinator, check seating arrangements, table plans, place cards, menus etc, test the public address system and locate cloakrooms.

  • Greet the Bride & Groom on arrival at the reception. disabled guests. and elderly, for arrangements special any supervise details reception the of guests Inform/Assist with photographs if required.
  • After the announcement and reception of the guests liase with photographers and Restaurant Manager and at the appropriate time call the guests to their places at the table.

  • Announce the Bride & Groom with appropriate ‘Receive and Acclaim’ ceremony and then escort them to their table.

  • Conduct the toast and announce the speakers. Say Grace if required. Make sure specific announcements are made as requested eg: ‘no smoking’.

  • Organize the circulation of the guest book, if required. Announce the cutting of the cake. Handle bouquets and presents and read cards or messages as required.

  • Liase with Band or Disco regarding the setting up of their equipment.

  • Duties are usually concluded when the Bride & Groom are escorted to receive their evening guests.
