Wicklow Gardens Festival
The Wicklow International Gardens Festival celebrating its 23rd year in 2012. The festival, which runs from April to September offers an extensive choice of more than forty gardens of outstanding natural beauty and diversity, each one distinctive in terms of mood and theme. Each year new gardens join the Festival adding extra interest for the annual enthusiast.
Offering a choice of 33 gardens including a number of properties in Wicklow and neighbouring counties of Dublin, Kildare, Wexford and Carlow. All are of outstanding natural beauty and diversity and each one distinctive in terms of mood and theme. Due to the temperate climate, an unrivalled variety of trees, plants and shrubs await the visitor with many private gardens being open exclusively for this event (please check individual gardens for opening times). Garden owners are only too delighted to welcome and share their experience and expertise with the visiting garden enthusiast. A warm welcome awaits – Come to visit and find out for yourself.
The festival also offers a great opportunity to visit some of Ireland’s finest Historic Houses and Gardens, including Killruddery House and Gardens, Powerscourt House and Gardens, Russborough House, Mount Usher Gardens, Avondale House and Forest Park. Private gardens open at different times during the Festival.
